Adults' Activities

Home Groups
Home Groups exist so that those who wish to grow in their faith can meet regularly for study related to the Bible, and for mutual support and encouragement. The average size of a group is eight people and they meet at varying times and places during the week to suit the needs and commitments of the group members.

Alpha Group
A chance to ask the "big" questions and explore the Christian faith in a relaxed atmosphere after a meal together. Three groups are held each year starting in January, April and September.

Prayer Groups
There is a regular Prayer group that meets on a Friday evening and another on Tuesday morning. There is also a “Prayer Cordon” of people who undertake to pray in response to specific requests or emergencies. Once a month there is a Prayer and praise Meeting held at the Church.

Wednesday Fellowship
We are a welcoming group for anyone who would like to spend an interesting afternoon with friendly people. Some talks are devotional, some are secular, but each is followed by a lively chat and a cup of tea. We meet most Wednesday afternoons.

Knitting Circle
There is a team of knitters who knit all kinds of garments and squares that are made in to blankets. These are given to the London City Mission in Brixton. Once a month we meet together to bring finished items and arrange the next task over tea and biscuits.

Church Catering
An active group of people who provide refreshments whenever different activities and occasions require refreshments or a light meal. We aim to please and provide a friendly service. There is also a rota of people who provide a cup of tea or coffee after the services.

Flower Arrangers
This is a group of men and women of varying abilities who enjoy flower arranging to the glory of God. The Church is decorated each week by members of the team. Before Easter, Harvest and Christmas the whole group meet to decorate the Church for the coming festival.

Gardening Team
From planting to pruning and daffodils to dahlias, the team deals with all aspects of gardening in the extensive church grounds. We meet on the first Saturday of each month to garden and exchange ideas. Many stop to sit in our gardens, and enjoy the peace in the midst of a busy world.

Townswomen’s Guild
This is a meeting for women who meet together regularly, regardless of politics, race, age, religion or circumstance, to exchange ideas, develop new skills and interests, get involved with various issues and, above all, have fun.

Exercise and Relaxation
A friendly class, run by a physiotherapist, is set to lively, but not disco, music and is suitable for people of all ages and sizes. We meet on Monday afternoons.

Activities for Children

Creche
The Creche meets in one of the church halls at 10.30 on a Sunday morning. There are kind and capable people, often mothers, who are happy to look after your young children whilst you join in the worship.

Sunday Squad
These groups meet on a Sunday morning, starting with the adults in church, then moving to their own activities.
Sunday Squad is for children aged 3 to 11:
Pebbles - for the 3 to 6s
Rocks - 7 to 11s

Parents and Babies
Come and meet other parents and carers with their babies and toddlers on Thursday mornings between 10 and 11:45. All are welcome.

Pre-School
The Pre-School is for children aged 2½ to 5 years. We aim to prepare children for school in a friendly environment. We also broaden their experience through a variety of activities and experiences in a well supervised and safe environment.
